About the Foundation

Learning. Loving. Growing.

Keshuben Chauhan started Divyaroshni Foundation in 2014 by teaching children on the streets of Vadodara. It began with five children. By 2024 it supported around 500 children, with more than 100 volunteers offering services twice a day.

Creating Opportunities for a Better Future

Our work covers children's education and nutrition, support for widowed women, and help for families and individuals facing hardship.

Child Education & Bright Futures

Since 2015, Project Bright Futures has helped children get school admission and covered school, college and tuition fees. More than 300 children receive daily tuition.

Every child matters, every moment counts

Education is only part of the story. Children explore music, art, dance and sports, and celebrate festivals together. The foundation encourages each child to follow their interests further.

Community Initiatives

Reaching people where they are

Our teams and volunteers go to roadsides, rural areas and neighbourhoods to provide practical, everyday support.

Education

Stationery & school bags

More than 10,000 stationery kits and school bags have gone to students in remote areas. The foundation also raises awareness about the value of education.

Summer relief

Slipper distribution

Every summer, a team of about 15 hands out slippers to people in rural areas and along roadsides. More than 4,000 pairs have been given so far.

Nourishment

Food distribution

During the wedding season, surplus food from celebrations is collected and shared with people on the streets and in rural areas. In the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation fed more than 1,000 people a day.

Each winter, more than 500 people living on the streets and in rural areas receive blankets and sweaters.

Health & dignity

Menstrual hygiene support

Every month, more than 50 girls in rural areas receive sanitary pads, so menstrual hygiene doesn't keep them from school or personal development.

Green organisation

Environment & bird care

The foundation plants trees through its 10-year "Save the Earth" project. It also cares for birds injured by kite strings during Uttarayan.

Our Story

A Journey That Began with Compassion

Founder Keshuben Chauhan is a trained nurse with more than 25 years of experience. As a single mother, she faced many challenges in supporting her daughter’s studies. She realised that many other families must face the same struggle.

She couldn't solve all the world's problems, but she could lend a helping hand to the people and children of Vadodara. From the foundation's profile

She also adopted and raised nine children, providing for all their needs, including education, as members of her own family.
